For those of you who are unfamiliar with the monthly TIOBE index, it is an indicator of the popularity of programming languages. Here are highlights from the most recent index:
- C++, Python and PHP usage appear to be in free fall.
- Objective-C usage is sky-rocketing, threatening to overtake C and Java as the most used programming language.
- Looks like Scala has trounced Clojure as the emerging JVM-based functional language (though Microsoft’s F# beats Scala by a significant margin).
