In this TED presentation, Tom Wujec presented some interesting lessons learnt from the Marshmallow Challenge on collaboration and approach to build teams that can deliver successful projects.
The MarshmallowChallenge is simple, teams are asked to build the tallest structure using 20 uncooked spaghetti, 1 yard of tape, 1 yard of strings and a marshmallow, where the Marshmallow must be placed at the top of the structure.
They found that iterative prototyping and skills to collaborate are keys for teams to perform well. Does this sound familiar? Agile Teams perhaps? What is also interesting is that, they also found children are a lot more natural at it than us adults.
Watch the presentation, it’s 5 minutes well worth spent 🙂
