Topic: Java SPOT – Small Programmable Object Technology
Format: Discussion Group
Presenter: Rajinder Piryani
Time: Tuesday, 12:30 – 1:30 PM
SPOT is a new technology from Sun labs based on small, modular, battery operated wireless devices that run on Java. SPOT devices provide a low cost, low power versatile platform for developing wireless sensor and embedded applications. More information on SPOT can be found on the Sun SPOT home page: http://www.sunspotworld.com/
Our plan is to split this session into two halves, the first part will focus on what SPOT is then for the second half we’ll open the floor up to a general discussion on how this technology could potentially be applicable to future projects.
