I’ve been doing personal blogging on LiveJournal for a number of years (and have recently been enjoying Dreamwidth). Yesterday, LiveJournal was hacked. The hack affected LJ for between one to two hours, and used Flash to exploit LJ. If I read an infected journal entry on one of my friend’s journals, the Flash component would edit my journal and HTML to include the infected Flash code in my most recent entry. I mostly browse with Flash blocked, thankfully. LJ speculates that email addresses have been harvested, and a few things like that.
The people at LJ responded pretty quickly, which was cool.
