Silverlight at the End of the Tunnel?

Here are two blog entries about Microsoft’s competition to Flex, called Silverlight. It includes such statements as “Silverlight will be the platform of choice for developers who build rich Internet applications.”

The statements are certainly lofty, but people said much the same thing about ActiveX components running in browsers, and the only thing those components really gave us is MalWare.

Those of us who were at Barry Gervin’s lunch and learn probably recall him talking about one component of Silverlight — XAML — described as a “Flash killer”. Me, I’m not sure what to think, yet.
