Worst idea of the week

Brian Behlendorf, formerly of Apache, claims that the time is ripe to let users program their own systems. I’ll be sure to give this yahoo a call the next time I have to support one of these user-created monstrosities.

I am fully in favour of involving the user in software development: it’s their money, it’s their product, it’s for them. But that doesn’t mean that I want them writing code – instead, I want them to tell me what the end result is supposed to be. Let me figure out how to get there.

It's only fair to share...
